Hi Folks,
my windowsill-growlist:
Acanthephippium striatum
Calanthe cardioglossa
Calanthe rosea
Cyclopogon congestus
Cyclopogon elatus ´Berggarten´
Dienia ophrydis
Eulophia andamanensis (flowers regularly)
E. andamanensis ´Pretty Green Bay´ (flowers regularly)
E. guineensis 2 specimen (flowers regularly)
E. spectabilis (dead 2010)
Gennaria diphylla
Geodorum pallidum (send to me as G. purpureum)
Habenaria medusa
Ipsea thailandica
Nervilis crociformis
Nervilia plicata
Oeceoclades saundersiana
Paphiopedilum Hybrid
Pecteilis hawkesiana (flowers regularly)
Pelexia aff. olivacea (flowers regularly)
Ponthieva racemosa (flowers regularly)
Ponthieva orchioides "Venezuela"
Pteroglossa roseo-alba
Pterostylis laxa
P. nutans
Sacoila lanceolata (flowers regularly)
Sarcoglottis aff. acaulis
Serapias parviflora Canary Islands, Teneriffa (first flowers 2010)
Stenorrhynchos speciosum
I think, that most of the deciduous terrestrials from the tropics are easier to cultivate on the windowsill than their epiphytic cousins because the Air is a little bit drier than in a greenhouse.

Hi Stefan
I read in your list that you regularly bring to flower your Pecteilis. Could you please tell us how you treat it during the dormancy period (unpot? watering regime? cold treatment? etc)
Thanks
Stephane |

Hi Stephane,
my Pecteilis gets no special treatment during its dormancy. The only thing is, that the pot (Clay) is plunged in sand in a bigger pot without holes and I water the sand so that the compost is a little bit moist. I repot the tuber every spring and gave the plant during the growing season a regular supply with an orchid-fertilizer (20:5:10:2). Thats all. Maybe a good Clone?
Ciao

Hi,
new in the last weeks:
Habenaria schimperiana
Malaxis calophylla
dead:
Geodorum purpureum
Giveaway:
Eulophia andamanensis, brown flowers; the green one flowers better with me. I think that the brown one needs more humidity to flower good, because a friend of mine has more luck with a piece of my plant with regular spraying. |

Hello Stefan,
Very nice list. I'm very interested in how you get on with Habenaria schimperiana and how you grow it. Do you know if there are more plants available from your source?
